REALITY

Photographer Thomas Luff said: photography  can't recordings real people. Because people are face social media, public  monitor every day, they use to be expressionless.

I use this kind of form like passport photo to present the portraits, because its impossible for people to reveal their true emotions  and natural state when their taking photo for ID. The reality of photo just their appearance.

I take portrait for kids, teenagers, adult and the old. I asked is there anything in reality life that make you feel like you can’t be your true self?  Then I wrote the key point of their responses on their portraits. It is like they are wearing their mask and shackle.

I think of the project as a experiment and protest that in this society everyone is under pressure and no one can truly be them self. As photograph, it very superficial.
